Sven Lindhorst-Emme was born in Bielefeld, Germany in 1978. He studied and worked as a lithographer from 1998 and in 2008 began studying Graphic and Communication Design in Bielefeld. In 2011 he opened his first Berlin studio.

Since 2014, he has taught Typography and Book design in Berlin and has also been teaching Typography at University of Arts in Berlin since Summer 2018. He is a member of the Type Directors Club New York, Graphis New York and 100 Best Posters Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

He worked as designer on the book “Dear Clark”, now a part of the permanent collections of the MoMa New York and the Metropolitan Museum of Arts. His work has featured in international exhibitions in Russia, America, China, Taiwan and France to name but a few. His work has also won TDC New York, Chaumont International Poster Festival, 100 Best Posters and many more.

I guess you don’t know me 05 4 Minutes

I really love the work of these two video artists. They always have a very strong concept but the aesthetic is still absolutely WOW! This video is just a documentary of how they work, their video-works are shown in exhibitions and museums. You have to check their website: www.iguessyoudontknowme.de

Coffee and TV, Blur 6 Minutes

I don’t think that this needs so much words. It is part of my youth and the song is still great and I fell in love with that sad (almost depressive) milk carton.

Dutch Profiles: Irma Boom 6 Minutes

I am a really big fan of Irma Boom, her books and her ideas of being a graphic-designer/book-designer. Her works are so impressive and real and with some projects, she comes close to the edge of what is possible. I think she never uses the direct and simple way, nearly every book is a work of art.

New Deal - Whatever (1993) FULL VIDEO 17 Minutes

I skated a lot when I was a teenager, like many graphic designers did in the past, and the “New Deal” skate-pros were the best! I love that trashy video style and the music. The video starts with a Frank Sinatra song and switches to PUNK! WTF?! Skate Videos from the late 80s and 90s have their own style; selfmade, rough but real!

Jon Gnarr - My Reykjavik 51 Minutes

This german documentary about Jon Gnarr, who was the mayor of Reykjavik, is so nice to see. This guy is not a typical politician, he is a stand up comedian who made it to mayor. After the financial crisis on the island, he built Reykjavik up and now everyone trusts him. This (normal) guy impressed me a lot.
